Open Evening at Willow Bank Heritage Village

Willow Bank is bringing in the new season with it’s first open day which will be a special evening event.
We will have the fire going in the Victorian cafe and hot chocolates available as you take a wander around the village.
Willow Bank Heritage Village is an affordable, fun and interactive living museum 1km south of Wakefield. With 20+ shop displays for you to explore, food & drink and lots more. A place to get dressed up, to embrace the fun, and immerse yourselves in times gone by.
We have actors and volunteers who create a unique cultural experience offering various activities of the early 1900’s.
Willowbank is always evolving and changing, so will always be something new to see.
PRINT SHOP EXPERIENCEDiscover the Original 1875 Albion Printing Press at Willow Bank. Step into the print shop at Willow Bank Heritage Village and try something truly special- printing by hand on the original 1875 Albion Printing Press, a beautifully preserved example of Victorian-era craftsmanship
VICTORIAN SCHOOL EXPERIENCE – Mr Wilkinson will be running the classes, please book outside the school house on the day. There will be a few sessions throughout the day. Not to be missed! CINEMA EXPERIENCE – Our cinema will be running throughout the open day, by our experienced projectionist…watch a short film on our Super 8 Projector & Screen. DRESS UP AND LOOK THE PART – Want to immerse yourself in this experience? We’d love you to! Please pick up a map at the entrance and make your way to the dress shop. Find your character and step back in time. “Willow Bank is a stage and you are part of the play!” VICTORIAN CAFE – Enjoy an authentic Victorian style Coffee with delicious local Sublime Coffee, brewed in a restored 100 year old espresso machine. If you prefer tea, we have Pomeroys, served in our beautiful China, with tiny milk jugs, and all the extras + Cakes, Scones and home made jam, and tea sandwiches. (We have many gluten free options!) 1950s BURGER BAR – Run by Deano’s Hotdogs, offering a yummy variety of hotdogs, chips and drinks if you are after something savoury. 1970s MILK BAR – Milkshakes, Spiders & Icecreams available here. VILLAGE OPEN TO EXPLORE – This is an awesome experience that you can tailor yourself.EFTPOS AVAILABLE.
