DESCRIPTION:Exploration and investigation all with close links to the surrounding environment – that’s the concept for the upgraded playground opening next week at Faulkner Bush in Wakefield.\n\n\nPhase one of the development is largely aimed at the younger members of the community with new swings\, slides\, a roundabout and even a bespoke climbing wall with specially locally crafted rock hand holds.\n\n\n… But don’t worry\, the old flying fox\, loved by a generation of adventurous kids\, is still there.\n\n\nMuch of the equipment and accessories in this new community asset have been constructed in timber and designed to reflect the area’s special natural environment.\n\n\nThis project has been made possible by the tremendous support of the community with groups donating money and businesses stumping up with products and resources to help with the job.\n\n\nThe grand opening is at 11.00 am on Wednesday 23 October\, when Mayor Tim King will do the honours and officially cut the ribbon – bring a spade to help with planting and enjoy a sausage or two off the barbecue. Everyone’s invited.
